Check a draw yourself
Everything happens in this browser tab: download the public files, verify drand's signature with the quicknet public key written into this page, rank everyone again, and re-judge each check record against the rules. If the server lied about the ranking or a verdict, a step fails.
What the check does
- 1Download rules.json, entries.json and result.json.
- 2Confirms each file is in its canonical published form.
- 3Checks the drand signature for the round fixed in the rules.
- 4Check that the rules and entry-list fingerprints link up.
- 5Recompute the full ranking and compare it with result.json.
- 6Re-judge the check records against the rules — order, stopping point, each verdict — and pick winners and alternates.
- 7Compare your result with what the giveaway page shows.
Prefer code?
The whole algorithm is four lines. Download the files from the giveaway page and run it in any language.
R = sha256(signature) key = sha256(R ‖ 0x00 ‖ uid) # uid as a decimal string sort by key (bytes, ascending); ties broken by uid as an integer check from rank 1 down: skip anyone who doesn't qualify → first N who do are winners, next M are alternates
